The Ankh

The eye of Horus - This is a very ancient Egyptian symbol signifying protection of the all seeing eye of the sun. It also symbolizes illumination.

The Ankh - Another symbol from ancient Egypt, meaning eternal life.

Hieroglyphic charm - meaning, good luck.

The "Nile" Goddess-This popular image of a Goddess with arms upraised in a gesture of welcome is thought to represent abundance and fertility.

The Spiral- signifies the eternal cycle of birth, death and re-birth. Spirals are found in the art of cultures as distant in time and place from each other as the Celts and the Australian Aborigines, (and many others).

 

The Hexagram- Composed of an upward pointing male triangle and a downward pointing female triangle, this design represents the sacred union of heaven and earth, known as the heiros gamos.

The Pentagram- The five points represent the four elements and the centre. It is used as a sign of magical protection.

The Moon -Women identify with the moon as She passes through Her monthly cycles. As the mysterious guardian of the night, She is the symbol of the Sacred Feminine.

OM - The ancient Sanskrit word, believed to be the Primal Sound which brought the universe into being. It is said that carrying, wearing or chanting the Om is a way of aligning oneself with the Harmony of the Spheres.

Horseshoe - A sign of Good Luck. It has associations with the strength and dependability of the horse, and, in upright position it is also symbolic of the moon. Pointing downwards, it is symbolic of the womb. Some traditions say that horseshoes should be placed upright so that the luck will not run out . Others say that the good luck will be drawn up if it is placed pointing downwards.

 

Nordic money charm. -This glyph symbolizes a person with arms outstretched in an attitude of receiving. It could also be interpreted as a cauldron of plenty.

Nordic warding charm - Shows a person with arms in an attitude of blocking and sending back unwanted influences.

Bind Rune for healing - Bind runes are composed of any number of single runes. This one is made up of, Ur, for strength and healing; Jera, for completion; and Sigel, the solar rune.

 

Bind rune for good luck. This is composed of, Gyfu, gift; and Feoh, worldly success, great wealth.

 

 

Bind rune for power, wealth and protection. Made up of Odal, which relates to personal belongings; Elhaz, for magical protection; Ing, sexual power; and Feoh, for worldly success and great wealth.

 

Triple Alpha A charm for protection in childbirth.

Yin-Yang - To me , this is one of the most concise and universally understood symbols. The seed of the light half is contained in the dark half and vice-versa. It is a symbol of balance and the eternal process of change.

Earth stones - The cross was originally a symbol of the four directions and the centre It is the sign for the element of earth and a powerful connection to home.

The general exceptions to this choice are the Nordic money charm which is GREEN/GOLD; The bind rune for healing (BLUE/SILVER); The love charm (RED/GOLD); Rainbow stones (multicoloured), and the tribal stones (red only). These are my suggestions and can be customized to suit individual needs.

The approximate size of each amulet is 30mm x 25mm.

Prices do not include postage. Cost of postage is $2.00 for up to 5 amulets.
