At all times in history, all over the
world, people have fashioned amulets charms and talismans from bones, stones, wood,
feathers, hair, metal, in fact anything that was workable or available. Amulets can
function as personal adornments, and they are also used in rituals and divination.
Carrying an amulet decorated with your favourite symbol is a way of being connected with
that particular energy.
Holding on to it or rubbing it can be a meditative act which helps to focus your thoughts. You may wish to fix amulets around your house or garden as a way of attracting different qualities to different areas, or as a means of protection. You can sew them into or onto ritual garments much like the shamans of old. String them up and use them as wind chimes adding sound to the dimensions of touch and sight.
